Scorching Bay Triathlons have kicked off!
Santa seen competing at the Scorching Triathlon in Wellington
Santa was especially lucky to get an entry into the Scorching Triathlon on Sunday 4 December as it sold out before the event. Luckily he is an organised kind of fella and registered well in advance. Santa (aka Gerrard Smith of Ngaio) completed the Long Course distance triathlon in 2 hours 33 minutes in a full Santa suit, encouraging other entrants as he went.
Over 300 people turned out to complete a range of triathlons and duathlons at the Scorching Triathlon on Sunday. Distances ranged from a short (250m swim, 15km cycle, 2.5km run), medium (750m swim, 20km cycle 5km run) or long triathlons (1.5km swim, 40km cycle, 10km run) to duathlons, ocean swims and novice options.
The next event is Saturday 28 January 2012. If you want more info see www.scorching.co.nz
